Inverness Whisky Tour - WhiskyWheels

Inverness and the Northern Highlands have a rich and interesting history in whisky making. One of the first accounts of a whisky style spirit being consumed was when King James IV was in Inverness during September 1506, the Treasurer’s Accounts had entries for the 15th and 17th of the month: ‘For aqua vite to the King. . .’ and ‘For ane flacat of aqua vite to the King. . .’. lt is more than likely that the Aquavitae in this case was spirit for drinking. Follow the footsteps of Royalty on your Inverness Whisky Tour.

The whisky from this region is some of the most prestigious and famous in the world. Glenmorangie and Brora are well known and respected worldwide. There are also lesser known gems such as Tomatin and Balblair close by.

On your Inverness whisky tour, you will come across many Highland whiskies, with many different flavours and different characters. Clynelish, for example has an unique oily texture not found elsewhere in the country.
